The Abbott Drive Landscaping Project was conceived to enhance and beautify the primary roadway leading from Eppley Airport to the central business district in Omaha, NE in 1999. Ehrhart Griffin & Associates were hired to prepare the topographic survey for the entire length of the project from Seward Street to Lindberg Drive along the Eastern perimeter of Carter Lake. As a result of the survey, Landscape Architects were able to configure island and tree plantings along the roadway as well as ornamental lighting and new monument walls and (gateway) towers along Abbott Drive. Extensive use was made of GPS for collection during the design phase and to stake out the features during the construction phase.
